PAWS is dedicated to saving lives and preventing suffering by implementing a no-kill philosophy through rescue, fostering, and aggressive spay/neuter programs. We are committed to forging a brighter, more humane tomorrow for homeless pets and our community.
Founded in 1979, PAWS is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that receives no government funding. For decades, we have served eight counties throughout south-central Pennsylvania, working toward a vision where no companion animal is left homeless.
We operate as a foster-based rescue, meaning our animals awaiting adoption are cared for in local foster homes. This environment provides each cat and dog with individual attention, allowing our team to truly get to know their unique personalities and needs in a family setting.
Our foster parents and adoption coordinators work as a dedicated team to help you find the companion that best suits your lifestyle and expectations. Because we prioritize lifelong success for both you and your new pet, we take the time to guide you through a thoughtful matching process that ensures every adoption is the right fit.
Whether you are looking to adopt a new family member, provide a temporary home as a foster parent, or support us through volunteering, there are many ways to get involved. Please visit our website to view our Adoptable Animals and discover how your support helps us create a better future for cats and dogs in need. We look forward to meeting you and helping you find your new best friend.
