Our Mission
Carbon County Friends of Animals is a nonprofit, no-kill cat shelter dedicated to providing a safe haven, essential care, and love for abandoned, stray, feral, and abused cats. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome every cat in our care, giving them a second chance at a happy, permanent life.
Our Story
Founded in 1997 by four visionary women, our organization was born out of a critical need for a dedicated sanctuary for feline residents in Carbon County. Since our early days, we have grown through the unwavering dedication of volunteers, donors, and animal lovers who believe that every feline life holds immense value.
A Dedicated Haven
Located at 77 W. 13th St. in Jim Thorpe, our current facility features an open-room concept that provides a comfortable, cage-free environment for cats awaiting their forever families. We operate solely through community support, fundraising, and the tireless energy of our volunteers to ensure our cats receive daily care, quality nutrition, and necessary veterinary services.

Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are committed to making it a successful experience for both you and your new feline companion. We take great care to ensure our cats are ready for their new homes, providing vaccinations and spay/neuter services for our residents.
