Our Mission
CompAnimals Pet Rescue is a dedicated, volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on rescuing unwanted, abandoned, or abused dogs, cats, and small pets. We strive to provide every animal in our care with a loving, permanent home while maintaining a sanctuary for those whose age or health challenges preclude them from adoption.
Our Story
Founded 20 years ago as a senior pet rescue, our journey began with the rescue of two senior cats, Leticia and Jezabel. Since those early days, we have grown to support hundreds of animals in need, specializing in helping the 'unadoptables'—those missing hair, needing surgery, or simply requiring a little extra T.L.C. before finding their forever family.
How We Care
We operate primarily through a foster home model where animals are socialized and evaluated in real-life family settings, ensuring they are prepared for their new lives. When at our Landenberg, PA facility, our dedicated volunteers provide compassionate care, including necessary vaccinations and medical treatments. Because we are 100% volunteer-run, we coordinate all shelter visits by appointment to ensure each animal receives the focus they deserve.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We are known for our meticulous matchmaking skills, spending time reviewing applications and checking references to ensure long-term success for both the pet and the adopter. We believe that adopting is a partnership, which is why we offer coaching and support even after the adoption is finalized. Our goal is to ensure that every placement is a lasting, joyful addition to your family.
