Home At Last Dog Rescue

Saving Lives, One Pup at a Time

Home At Last Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all-breed organization dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a happy life. We focus on rescuing dogs from overcrowded shelters and puppy mills, guiding them on a safe, loving path toward their forever homes.

Our History and Community Commitment

Since our founding in 2008, we have rescued over 24,000 dogs from challenging circumstances, including high-kill shelters and unsafe environments. We are deeply rooted in the suburban Philadelphia community and believe that every dog, regardless of their past, deserves a bright, secure future.

The Power of a Foster-Based Rescue

Home At Last is not a shelter with a physical kennel facility; instead, we operate as an extensive foster-based network. Our rescued dogs live in volunteer homes where they can decompress, receive individualized care, and learn to trust again before finding their perfect match. This unique model allows us to better understand each dog’s personality, temperament, and specific needs in a home setting.

Your Partner in Finding a Forever Friend

We are deeply committed to making thoughtful, sustainable matches that consider both the dog's background and your family's lifestyle. Because we work so closely with our foster families to know every Superpup, we are able to ensure that each adoption is a successful, long-term partnership. Our team provides support throughout the process, ensuring that your transition to becoming a dog parent is as smooth and joyful as possible.

Join Our Mission

Ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to explore our list of adoptable dogs or join us at one of our upcoming community events to meet some of our wonderful pups in person. Your decision to adopt changes a life forever, and we are honored to help you find your perfect match.

10/13 - Think you can’t foster? You might be surprised by how much of a difference you can make. 💙 Fostering doesn’t mean you have to adopt another dog or commit forever. It means opening your home temporarily, giving a dog a safe place to land, and helping them get one step closer to their HOME AT LAST. We provide support and supplies along the way! And right now, Mally needs a new foster home. She prefers a home without pets or kids but in return, she is the easiest house guest we know! All she wants is a cushion on your couch. Whether you foster Mally or another dog in need, you can be the reason their story changes. Learn more and apply to foster on our website! . . . 10/6 - It would be so beautiful to see this sweet senior girl get adopted into her forever home. 💜 I welcomed adoptable Mally to my studio because she has been waiting a year and a half for her forever home. She's available for adoption through @homeatlastdogrescue . But let me tell you a little about this girl. Mally had a home but her parents divorced and neither found a new home that would allow them to bring their pittie girl with them. So, she was surrendered. Mally was hit by a car in her past and underwent surgery to save her back legs but left her with an awkward sit and stiffness in her back end. She endured so much. She doesn't deserve to be homeless now too. Mally is incredibly affectionate and such a sweet and loving girl. She will lean into you for pets and just soak up being close to you. She loves a good plushy squeaky toy. And despite being at the start of her senior years, she has a youthful spirit. Her soul is in her eyes. And it just kills me that people have failed her more than once. Mally does have a quirk, but many dogs do and let's be honest, many more people do! She can be dog selective and reactive. Whenever a dog is a pitbull and not a dog fan, it feels like it's so much harder for them to find a forever home. But it doesn't have to be. Someone out there is looking for Mally. She is just perfect for someone. And I hope that this will be shared to get her seen and to help her find them. 9/29 - Know someone with one of these names? 👀 Tag them in the comments — but fair warning: they’re now legally obligated to adopt their name twin. 😂 Sorry we don’t make the rules! These pups are ready for a forever home…whether or not you change their name! Tag responsibly. 😉 . . .
