Founded in 1983, Action For Animals Humane Society is dedicated to rescuing and providing loving care for abused, neglected, and stray dogs and cats until they find their permanent, furever homes. We are a non-profit, non-government funded, no-kill shelter committed to giving every animal a second chance at a happy life.

Since our inception, we have proudly served the Westmoreland County area by matching people and pets. We believe in eliminating the cruelty of animal overpopulation, which is why we also provide low-cost spay and neuter services to the public, ensuring a healthier future for our furry companions.

Located in Latrobe, our beautiful facility is designed for animal comfort and well-being. From our open-air Tigre Pavilion cattery and Blessed’s Dog Park to our outdoor play areas, we provide a safe, nurturing environment where animals can thrive while they wait for their new families.

Action For Animals Humane Society will hold its annual Walk for the Animals on Saturday at Twin Lakes Park in Unity and Hempfield townships with registration beginning at 11 a.m.
