Our Mission
To Love a Canine Rescue (TLC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all-breed, 100% foster-based rescue dedicated to saving abandoned, stray, and surrendered dogs. We aim to minimize the needless euthanizing of animals by connecting them with their final, happy, and loving forever homes.
Our Story
TLC was born in the spring of 2013 when eight founding members combined their collective experience in pet rescue and community service to create a supportive organization. Since our inception, we have been committed to educating the community on responsible dog ownership, including spaying, neutering, and behavior training.
A Different Approach to Rescue
As a 100% foster-based organization operating in Chester County, PA, we believe in the power of a nurturing home environment. Rather than living in a shelter, our dogs stay in warm, comfortable homes where they receive individualized attention, socialization, and the medical care they need to thrive. This model allows our foster families to learn the unique strengths and needs of each dog, ensuring they are truly prepared for life with their new family.

10/7 - Welcome to TLC! 🐾💙 We’re so excited to welcome our newest arrivals to the TLC family! These pups are officially starting their next chapter, and it took a whole lot of people working behind the scenes to get them here. A HUGE thank you to everyone who made this transport possible — our transport team, drivers, volunteers, fosters, intake team, and everyone who helped coordinate, prepare, clean, carry, cuddle, and get these pups safely settled into their foster homes. Rescue truly takes a village, and we’re incredibly grateful for ours. 💙 Miles for Mutts is quickly approaching, and we can’t wait for you to meet some of these new faces at one of our biggest fundraisers of the year!
