Speranza Animal Rescue is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating the most severely neglected and abused animals, providing them with a second chance at a loving life. We believe in offering hope—the very meaning of our name—to those who need it most.
Founded by Janine Guido in 2012, our organization grew from a personal passion for saving strays into a dedicated sanctuary on a 17.5-acre farm in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. As an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, we focus on providing a haven for animals in need, with a special passion for pit bulls and other bully breeds.
Operating entirely on donations, we manage a multifaceted rescue that includes a 50-dog facility on our farm and approximately 50 dogs in dedicated foster homes. We take on extreme medical and behavioral cases that others may not be able to accommodate, ensuring every animal receives the time, patience, and professional veterinary care they deserve. For those animals who may not be ready for adoption, our sanctuary provides a loving home for the duration of their natural lives.
Adopting from Speranza is a thoughtful process designed to ensure a perfect match for both your family and the animal. By taking the time to understand your lifestyle and carefully reviewing applications, we aim to build lasting, successful relationships between our residents and their new families. Our team remains a resource for you long after the adoption is finalized, supporting you through the transition and beyond.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our current adoptable dogs on our website or contact us at info@speranzarescue.org to learn more about our adoption process. Together, we can continue to provide love and hope to the animals who need it most.
