Our mission is to foster a humane community that understands and values the ways in which animals enrich our lives. We are dedicated to providing effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals and ensuring they receive the kindness and consideration they deserve.
Since our founding in 1939, we have remained a constant, steadfast presence for animals in need. From our humble beginnings in a converted chicken coop to our current facility in Myerstown, we have continuously evolved to better serve our community as the only animal shelter within Lebanon County.
As a 501c(3) nonprofit, we rely on the generous contributions of our community to provide shelter, food, and medical treatment for our temporary residents. Our facility features a compassionate staff and a dedicated volunteer program, ensuring every animal receives socialization, behavioral enrichment, and the love they need while waiting for their forever homes.
We believe that adoption is about building a lifelong, joyful partnership. Our team carefully reviews every application to ensure each shelter pet is matched with their ideal human companion, focusing on the safety and well-being of the animal to ensure they will thrive in their new environment.
Whether you are looking to adopt a new best friend, volunteer your time, or support us through a donation, you are an essential part of our work. We invite you to explore our available animals online or stop by our shelter to meet the wonderful pets currently waiting for a second chance. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of animals throughout Lebanon County.
