Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley
Our Mission
Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is dedicated to finding safe, loving homes for abused, abandoned, and homeless animals in the Allegheny-Kiski Valley. We are committed to fostering responsible pet ownership through community education and compassionate care.
Our Commitment to Care
As a local nonprofit, no-kill shelter located in New Kensington, we provide a safe haven for cats and dogs in need. Our dedicated team, comprised of an all-volunteer Board of Directors and a hardworking professional staff, ensures every animal receives the attention and care they deserve while waiting for their forever family.
How We Operate
We believe in the power of community, which is why we offer resources like a community pantry to help keep families together. Our facility is a place of healing, where each animal receives essential medical care, including spay or neuter surgeries and necessary vaccinations, to prepare them for their new life. We are proud to be a trusted resource that our community looks to for animal rescue and support.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We strive to make a match that lasts a lifetime. Our thoughtful adoption process, which includes a personal interview with an adoption counselor and an on-site meeting, ensures that both the animal and the adopter are set up for a successful, happy future. Whether you are looking for a loyal dog or a feline companion, our committee is here to guide you toward the right fit for your home and lifestyle.
