Friends with Paws Pet Rescue is dedicated to finding loving forever homes for pets in need, ensuring every animal receives the care, compassion, and stability they deserve. We believe that rescued does not mean damaged, it simply means these animals were let down by humans and are now ready for a fresh start.
Our Story
Founded in January 2016 by Clara Cammerota in Scranton, PA, our organization became a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit later that same year. We have grown significantly through the unwavering support of our community, helping hundreds of pets transition from difficult circumstances into flourishing, happy lives.
A Foster-Based Approach
We operate as a foster-based small-breed dog rescue serving Lackawanna and Luzerne County. Rather than relying on a traditional shelter, our animals live in loving foster homes, which allows them to adjust to a real home environment before they are adopted. We provide all the necessary vetting, including vaccines and spaying or neutering, along with food, toys, and the love they need to thrive.

Our thorough application process, including reference and home checks, helps us understand both the animal's needs and your expectations.
