At Centre County PAWS, we are dedicated to promoting animal welfare and safety with compassion through adoption, sheltering, education, and community assistance. We believe in building a compassionate Centre Region where all animals thrive.
Established in 1980, we have spent over 40 years serving our local community. As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are proud to be member-supported and driven by our core values of compassion, generosity, open communication, and responsible practices.
As a limited-admission, non-euthanasia shelter, we provide a safe, loving environment for animals until they find their perfect forever homes. Our work is powered by over 20 paid staff members and hundreds of dedicated volunteers who open their hearts and homes to animals in need. We believe that by working together with our community, we can ensure every animal receives the care and attention they deserve.
Adoption is a lifelong partnership, and our thoughtful matching process ensures that every cat and dog is placed in a home that suits their unique personality and needs. Our Adoption Counselors work closely with you to understand your lifestyle and environment, creating a stress-free transition for your new family member. We are committed to transparency and providing you with all the support necessary for a successful, joyful homecoming.
Whether you are ready to adopt, volunteer, or support us through our many programs, there is a place for you at PAWS. We invite you to visit our Adoption and Education Center in State College or explore our available animals online. Together, we can continue to create happy tails for the animals who need us most.
