Animal Welfare Society of Monroe
Our Mission
The Animal Welfare Society of Monroe (AWSOM) is dedicated to providing shelter and medical care for companion animals, ensuring they remain free from abuse, hunger, fear, and loneliness until they find their responsible forever homes.
Our Commitment to Monroe County
AWSOM serves as a safe haven for unwanted companion animals throughout Monroe County, Pennsylvania. We are deeply committed to ending the cycle of pet overpopulation by promoting the importance of spay and neutering while providing our community with high-quality, affordable veterinary care through our Wellness Center.
How We Care for Our Animals
Operating from our shelter in Stroudsburg, our team works every day to ensure our animals receive the medical attention and love they deserve. Our comprehensive adoption fees cover essential care, including spay/neuter services, microchipping, vaccinations, and necessary parasite treatments, ensuring each pet is healthy and ready to join your family.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
We believe that successful adoptions are built on thoughtful connections. Our adoption process involves a holistic review to match each animal’s unique personality, activity level, and behavioral needs with the right home environment. By considering the adopter's lifestyle and long-term care plans, we ensure that every pet is placed in a setting where they can truly thrive for their entire life.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Whether you are looking to adopt a new family member, volunteer your time, or donate to our cause, there are many ways to support our mission. We invite you to visit our shelter at 3129 Godfrey Ridge Drive in Stroudsburg, call us at 570-421-DOGS, or explore our website to view our current adoptable pets. Together, we can create a future where every companion animal is cherished and secure.
