Camp Papillon Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to providing a safe haven for companion animals. We work with compassion to prevent suffering and ensure every animal in our care finds a permanent, loving home.
Founded in 2006 as a foster-based network, we officially became Camp Papillon Animal Shelter in 2015 after acquiring our beautiful 33-acre campus in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Formerly a children's church camp, our facility was thoughtfully converted to serve the specific needs of the animals in Monroe County.
We blend the comfort of a shelter environment with the specialized attention of a foster network. Our facility features converted cottages and bath houses, supplemented by acres of woods and walking trails to keep our residents physically and emotionally enriched. While animals are with us, they receive full medical care, quality nutrition, socialization, and plenty of love from our dedicated staff and volunteers.
We believe that adopting is about making the best possible match for both the pet and your family. Because we want to ensure long-term success, our adoption process is thorough and personalized rather than first-come, first-served. Every pet in our care is fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and microchipped before heading to their new home.
As a private, non-profit organization that receives no government funding, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue this vital work. We invite you to visit our campus to meet our residents or browse our current list of adoptable pets online. Together, we can provide the second chances our animals deserve.
