Our Mission
Camp Papillon Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to the prevention of suffering and the protection of companion animals. We work tirelessly and with compassion to provide a safe haven for every animal in our care.
A History of Compassion
Founded in 2006 as a foster-based network, we have spent nearly two decades serving the animals of Monroe County, PA. In 2015, we evolved into a physical animal shelter after purchasing a former church camp, allowing us to expand our capacity to help those in need.
Life at the Camp
We are not your normal shelter; we have transformed a peaceful retreat into a sanctuary for our residents. From kennel buildings and independent rooms for larger dogs to nature trails, creekside walks, and enrichment programs like music and social playgroups, we prioritize the emotional and physical well-being of every pet until they find their forever family.
Building Lifelong Bonds
We take great pride in our mission to place unwanted, neglected, or homeless animals into the right permanent, and responsible homes. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work to ensure that each adoption is a successful partnership, providing necessary medical care, socialization, and love throughout the process.

10/9 - Look at Elsa go! We are SO proud of her! 🐾 Today at Trifecta Training, Elsa reached a wonderful milestone! 💕 She usually needs slow, careful introductions to new people, but today she allowed a complete stranger to walk her and even pet her! Every little step forward is worth celebrating, and this was a BIG one for Elsa! You’ll notice Elsa wearing a muzzle in the video. She is muzzle-trained and comfortable wearing it. The muzzle is a safety tool that helps protect both Elsa and the people working with her while she continues building confidence and learning to navigate new experiences. It doesn’t bother her, and it doesn’t stop her from making progress! Every day, Elsa is showing us what patience, consistency, and the right support can do. We’re cheering you on, sweet girl!
