The Lycoming Animal Protection Society (LAPS) is dedicated to providing safety, care, and a brighter future for homeless cats and kittens. We operate on the belief that every animal deserves a loving, permanent home, and we work tirelessly to make that goal a reality for our residents.
Since our founding in 1992, LAPS has served as a vital sanctuary for felines in need throughout the Williamsport, Pennsylvania area. Originally established in Montoursville, our organization has grown over the years into a passionate community of volunteers, continuing our long-standing commitment to protecting homeless cats.
We are proud to be a no-kill, volunteer-run organization operating out of our facility at 630 Wildwood Blvd in Williamsport. Our residents receive comprehensive care, including initial veterinary physicals, vaccinations, feline leukemia testing, and spay or neuter services to ensure they are healthy and ready for their next chapter.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we strive to ensure our residents find a match that lasts a lifetime. We ask all potential adopters to complete a simple form so we can better understand your home and needs, helping us ensure that every cat transitions smoothly into a family that will cherish them forever. Our volunteers are here to help you get to know the personalities of our cats so you can find the one that truly steals your heart.
We invite you to visit our shelter to meet the cats currently waiting for their forever homes. You can also connect with us via email at lapsshelter@gmail.com or by phone at (570) 327-8707 to learn more about our current residents, volunteer opportunities, or our sponsorship program. Whether you are ready to adopt, donate, or volunteer, your support helps us continue our mission of providing a safe haven for every cat in our care.
