The York County SPCA is dedicated to providing essential services that protect animals and support the people and communities who depend on us. Our mission is to keep people and pets together while creating a safer, healthier York County for everyone.
Since 1926, our organization has saved more than 350,000 animal lives. We are an independent 501(c)3 non-profit that serves all 72 municipalities in York County as their trusted resource for displaced and stray animals.
Operating out of the Brougher Companion Animal Shelter, we provide comprehensive, professional care including medical treatment, behavioral enrichment, and public safety services. Our team relies on a dedicated network of volunteers and foster homes to ensure every animal receives the attention they deserve while awaiting their new beginning.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to ensure you find the perfect match for your lifestyle. We utilize a thoughtful, transparent adoption process that includes meet-and-greets and professional counseling to help you and your new friend build a lifelong bond. By adopting, you aren't just saving a life—you are opening up space for another animal in need.
Whether you are ready to find your new best friend or want to support our life-saving work, there are many ways to get involved. We invite you to explore our current list of adoptable pets online or visit us during our public browsing hours at our York location to meet your future companion.
