Our Mission
Heal Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill adoption center and sanctuary dedicated to providing quality care, shelter, and respect to animals in need. We are a voice for those who cannot speak, working to save lives and inspire others to become advocates for animals large and small.
Our Story
Founded in 2006 by Candy Valentino, our organization was born from a passion for helping senior and special needs dogs. Since officially opening our doors in 2009, our community of volunteers and supporters has worked tirelessly to build a safe, loving environment for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals. In 2017, we expanded our mission by opening a 62-acre farm sanctuary to provide a permanent, peaceful refuge for rescued farm animals.
How We Care
We operate two distinct locations in Pennsylvania: an Adoption Center in Youngwood for companion animals and a Farm Sanctuary in Latrobe. Our dedicated team provides food, medical care, and enrichment to every resident, ensuring their futures are filled with kindness. We believe in the therapeutic power of the human-animal bond and invite the community to join us in our commitment to healing.
