Potter League for Animals
Our Mission
As the heart of a compassionate community, the Potter League for Animals enriches lives and promotes the humane treatment of animals. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of care, resources, and support to animals and the people who love them.
Rooted in Service
Founded in 1929, we have spent more than 90 years serving as Rhode Island’s most comprehensive animal welfare organization. We exist to meet the evolving needs of our community, ensuring every animal receives the respect and care they deserve.
How We Help
Operating as an open-admission animal care and resource center, we provide a safe, nurturing environment for companion animals while they wait for their new families. Our commitment is holistic; we do not place time limits on an animal’s stay, ensuring they have all the time, space, and medical attention they need to thrive. Through our dedicated staff and foster programs, we provide individualized care for every pet that comes through our doors.
A Meaningful Partnership
We believe in creating lasting bonds by connecting people with pets based on shared lifestyles and energy levels. Our adoption process is a conversation-based journey, designed to ensure a strong foundation for both you and your new companion. We are here to support you at every step, offering guidance, training resources, and veterinary services to help your new family member transition smoothly into your home.
