South Kingstown Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The South Kingstown Animal Shelter is dedicated to improving the quality of life for every stray, neglected, or abandoned animal that enters our care. We strive to provide the best quality life possible through professional, compassionate, and attentive support for our community's vulnerable animals.
Our History and Community
Founded in 1980, our shelter has long served as a vital regional resource for South Kingstown and Narragansett. In 2012, we moved into our current state-of-the-art facility, which was purpose-built to allow us to utilize all available resources to provide excellent care for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
How We Care
We believe in the dignity of every animal and maintain a policy of prioritizing their long-term well-being. Our team provides all possible medical care and preventative attention to ensure every resident is healthy and happy. We are committed to a gentle, thoughtful approach, ensuring that euthanasia is reserved only for incurable medical conditions or extreme behavioral challenges.
The Adopter Connection
We believe that every animal deserves a loving, permanent home. Because we want every adoption to be a success, we carefully screen applicants to ensure that each pet is matched perfectly with the right family. Our goal is to create lasting, joyful partnerships that give our animals the second chance they truly deserve.
