The Anderson County Humane Society is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for animals in our area. We work tirelessly through our programs and events to ensure every animal receives the care and compassion they deserve.
Governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, we operate independently of local government and the county animal shelter. We rely entirely on the generosity of concerned citizens like you to fuel our mission and sustain our essential services.
Because we are not a traditional shelter, we utilize a dedicated network of foster homes to provide a safe, loving environment for animals while they wait for their forever families. We also maintain a low-cost spay/neuter clinic as part of our commitment to reducing the number of unwanted animals in our community. Every animal in our care is treated with dignity, and we only consider euthanasia in cases of terminal illness or severe pain.
Adoption is a life-changing journey, and we believe in creating perfect matches for both pets and their new human companions. From spirited kittens to loyal dogs, our foster-based approach allows us to learn the unique personalities of every animal. When you adopt from us, you aren't just getting a pet; you are welcoming a new family member into your home.
Whether you are looking to bring home a new best friend, interested in becoming a foster parent, or want to support our work through donations, we would love to connect with you.
