Our Mission
The Hilton Head Humane Association is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless dogs and cats while working to substantially lower the numbers of animals reproduced or relinquished. We provide a safe haven for the abandoned, injured, and abused animals of the Lowcountry, ensuring they receive the love and care they deserve until they find their forever homes.
A History of Compassion
Since our incorporation in 1976, we have grown from a small shelter into a vital community resource. Today, we are proud to operate a state-of-the-art Animal Campus in Okatie, a facility that stands as a symbol of one of the largest public-private partnerships in Beaufort County’s history.
How We Care
We are a no-kill organization, committed to eliminating the euthanasia of all healthy and treatable animals. At our shelters, animals receive expert medical treatment, plenty of exercise, and loving care in a supportive environment. Our programs extend beyond our doors, including a high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic and vital community outreach initiatives that help people keep their pets healthy and happy.
