10/16 - MEET POMPEII! STATS: 1 year old, spayed, American Staffy Mix, 50 lbs AFFECTION/ENERGY LEVEL: I have so much fun puppy energy and love to play outside with my dog friends! I will romp, roll, and tumble with the other pups and I smile so big it looks like I'm laughing! I am also very sweet with people and enjoy hanging out and playing fetch. When I am good and tired, ill lay right at your feet and enjoy the quality time. WHAT I LOVE: I love to PLAY! I still have a lot of young pup energy and I try to get all the other dogs to play with me, even if they don’t want to! I really love water and enjoy cooling off in the puppy pool. I'm still trying to figure out if I like being sprayed with the hose, though… I just really love other dogs! KIDS: While I haven’t been formally tested with kids at the shelter, the staff thinks my low key but playful, sweet personality would make me a good friend for kids that are respectful and kind towards me. I still have a lot of puppy energy, so a kid would have to be mindful and understanding of that. OTHER DOGS: I'm dog-friendly and enjoy the company of other dogs! I go to playgroup here at the shelter and I am co-housed with my sister, Kilauea! CATS: Unknown HER MATCH: I would do wonderful with an active family, or one that allows me to get my energy out. I have so much love to share! I would do great as an addition to an existing dog inclusive home, or on my own as long as I can get the enrichment I need. I arrived at the shelter as a stray but at the very second my shelter family met me, they knew I was not made for the outdoors! Not me, I am COUCH POTATO material! So I have spent my time at the shelter enjoying the accommodations (good food, comfy blankets, and lots of scratches) until my forever family comes and finds me. I have quickly become a shelter favorite for my kind and gentle demeanor and how polite I am - I pretty much spend all day sitting on my bed waiting for someone to notice me. The second you open my door, I will firmly press my forehead to yours for the cat form of a bear hug! I havent shown any negative reactions to other cats at the shelter, but considering how docile and sweet I am, I wouldn't want any other kitties to try and play rough with me! I would do wonderfully as a lap cat - as long as your near me, I'm happy! I am up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, current on prevention, FIV/FeLV negative, and patiently waiting for my new family! Complete an adoption survey at the link in the comments. Watch on Facebook10/1 - 🔷️MEET TAMIR!🔷️ Hey everyone! My name is Tamir and I am a quiet, sweet, gentle guy with so much love to give! You wouldn't believe it looking at me today, but this gorgeous and unique coat you see on me was in utter shambles when my shelter family first laid eyes on me. I was in so much discomfort and pain, suffering from a skin infection that caused my whole body to crust and scab. I was hurting horribly and at first, I didn't realize the shelter staff was just there to help me! Boy, did that change! Once I started treatment, I began feeling so much better and as a thank you, I revealed not only the most beautiful fluffy, furry, cream tabby colored coat to the shelter staff... but I got to show them my true colors. Now, I am a loving and down to earth boy and the self proclaimed king of biscuits. I don't demand attention, but I truly appreciate it. I am super laid back and prefer to enjoy a nice nap in my bed or a quiet spot to lay in comfort. Shelter staff thinks that I haven't had too much comfort in my life, so I am soaking it all up now! Although I am FIV positive, I am all healthy now and can live a long and happy life as long as I am kept indoors and get the normal vet visits pets need, just like any other cat! My difficult days are in the past! I am up to date on vaccines, neutered, current on prevention, microchipped, and I am ready for my fresh new start with a forever family! I really lean into affection from my people and soak up all the attention. I love to run around and play with the other dogs and when I am REALLY having fun, I will occasionally let out a joyful “WOOF!” WHAT I LOVE: I love my stuffy toys! I also really love going on walks and spending time with my people. Rolling in the grass is one of my favorite ways to stay cool on these hot summer days. I also like sunbathing, especially when it is in the company of my friends, both dog and human alike! KIDS: While I haven’t been formally tested with kids at the shelter, the staff thinks I would be good with kids that are kind and respectful towards me! OTHER DOGS: I'm dog-friendly and enjoy the company of other dogs! I go to playgroup here at the shelter every day! I am also an official York County Dog Test Dog! CATS: I am not a fan of cats here at the shelter. HIS MATCH: I am such a fun-loving guy and I am just searching for my forever partner/family to live my best life with! I would do wonderfully with another dog or as an only dog – as long as I get some playtime in, I am happy!
