Our mission is to provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, and neglected animals in our community while actively advocating on their behalf. We envision a world where every pet has a loving home where they are respected and cherished.
Founded in 1910 by Ethel Hardy, who famously championed strays while driving her carriage through Chattanooga, we have proudly served our community for over a century. Today, we continue that legacy by caring for thousands of homeless pets each year as an open-door facility dedicated to making Hamilton County a better place for all animals.
We are committed to providing outstanding, compassionate, and healing care for every animal that enters our doors. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure that every treatable, adoptable, and trainable animal in our facility receives the respect and dignity they deserve while waiting for their forever families.
We believe there is no substitute for meeting your potential new best friend in person. Our adoption counselors are here to help you get one-on-one time with available pets, ensuring you find the right companion based on the unique needs of the animal and your own lifestyle. Whether you are looking for an energetic partner or a gentle couch potato, we are here to facilitate a successful, lifelong partnership.
You can be the reason a pet's life is enriched by welcoming a new member into your home. We invite you to browse our available animals online, visit us at our facility in Chattanooga, or learn more about how you can support our mission through fostering, volunteering, or donating. Your kindness helps us continue our vital work for the animals who need us most.
