Since our inception in 1910, we have been dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless, abused, and neglected animals within our community. Founded by Ethel Hardy, who famously picked up stray animals while driving her carriage, our organization has evolved to serve Hamilton County and help thousands of pets each year. Our mission reflects our deep commitment to advocate for the welfare of every animal in our care. We strive to find loving, responsible homes for all treatable, adoptable, and trainable animals, making Hamilton County a better place for pets through our various programs and services. From adoption services and animal protection to cruelty investigations and spay/neuter clinics, our open-door facility ensures that we can assist residents in need of animal welfare services. At the Humane Educational Society, kindness, advocacy, and stewardship are the core values that guide our work. We lead our community by example through compassionate and respectful care for all animals in our guardianship. By educating our community about animal welfare principles, we aim to foster a culture of responsibility and compassion towards our furry friends. Our annual impact speaks volumes with over 2,000 pets adopted, nearly 2,000 pets fostered, and numerous health initiatives, including treating heartworm-positive dogs.
