Montgomery County Animal Care and Control
Our Mission
Montgomery County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) is committed to protecting both pets and people in our community through animal health, responsible ownership, and public safety. We strive to create a safer, kinder county for everyone by balancing compassionate care with professional enforcement of state and local ordinances.
Serving Our Community
As an open-intake municipal shelter, we take pride in serving all of Montgomery County, including our dedicated military community. We operate two convenient locations—our main campus on Jordan Road and our facility at Ft. Campbell—to ensure we are accessible to the families and pets who need us most.
A Commitment to Care
Our work is guided by the Five Freedoms, ensuring every animal receives nourishment, comfort, health, and the opportunity to express their natural behaviors in a safe environment. We go beyond basic shelter by actively working to reunite lost pets with their families and supporting those in our care through foster programs and specialized attention.
Find Your New Best Friend
Adoption is a wonderful way to bring a new member into your home, and we are here to help you find the perfect match. We believe that every adoptable animal deserves a loving family, and our team is dedicated to facilitating happy, lifelong partnerships between pets and their new owners.
Connect With Us
We invite you to learn more about our mission and meet the wonderful animals currently waiting for their forever homes. Visit us at one of our locations or explore our website to see our adoptable pets, learn about volunteer opportunities, or discover how you can support our life-saving programs.
