Founded in 2014, the SPCA of Bradley County is dedicated to providing a compassionate, no-kill shelter experience while promoting the well-being of every animal in our care and across our community.

We believe that every life matters, and we have worked since our inception to ensure that animals in Bradley County have a safe place to land. Supported by our community, local government, and generous grants, we strive to be a beacon of hope for pets in need of their forever homes.
How We Care for Our Animals
Our dedicated team—comprising a full-time director, a committed staff, and wonderful volunteers—works tirelessly to prepare our animals for their future families. Every pet in our care receives age-appropriate vaccinations, necessary deworming, a microchip with lifetime registration, and is spayed or neutered before adoption. We take pride in maintaining a professional environment where fewer than 10 percent of animals are euthanized, reserved only for cases involving incurable physical or behavioral issues.

They’ve watched others leave with families while their own turn never seems to come. Zeus, our longest resident, has waited longer than anyone. They deserve more than another day of waiting. They deserve a favorite spot on the couch, a person who knows their quirks, and a home where they belong. Their adoption fees are WAIVED because we want to help these 14 dogs finally begin their next chapter. Each has different needs, and our staff can help you find the right match. 10/3 - The dinosaur costume might look fierce, but Zeus is just hoping someone will stop and love on him. 💚🦖 Today marks 738 days in the shelter. 💔 More than two years without a home or a person of his own. In these photos, he’s hanging out with one of our amazing volunteers. In the video, you’ll see what he wants most: affection, attention, and a little more time with someone who cares. Folks, Zeus isn’t scary. He isn’t a mean dog. He’s a big, strong Mastiff/Boxer mix whose world fell apart when the lady who loved him died. He came here with his brother Apollo because his person was gone—not because he had done something wrong. Apollo has since found his home. Zeus is still waiting. Behind that big head and dinosaur hood is a dog who loves car rides, being close to his people, and squeezing into a recliner as though he’s perfectly lap-sized. He once knew what it meant to belong. We want so badly for him to have that again. Zeus needs a home without cats or dogs. A home with adults or older children would be best simply because of his size and strength. 9/19 - DAY 724. ZERO ADOPTION APPLICATIONS. 💔 Again. Zeus has now spent 724 days of his life waiting for a home, and somehow, this big beautiful boy still has zero adoption applications. Watch his video. Seriously… will you just LOOK at him?! ❤️ Zeus isn’t scary. He isn’t vicious. He’s just a big, strong, goofy pup who needs the right home and someone willing to finally give him a chance. Zeus needs a home with no cats and no small dogs. Also, no small children—not because he’s a bad dog, but because he’s a big, powerful boy. Have a medium or large dog at home?
