A Freedom Journey
Our Mission
A Freedom Journey is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing severely neglected, abused, and abandoned dogs, rehabilitating them through specialized training, and placing them into loving, forever homes. We believe that love matters, and we work tirelessly to provide the comfort and compassion every animal deserves.
Our Story
Our journey began in 2022 with a single, malnourished dog named Journey. After witnessing her miraculous transformation, our founder, Amanda, felt a calling to leave her grooming career behind to dedicate her life to saving those in need. Since then, we have rescued over 200 dogs, transforming lives one animal at a time.
How We Operate
We are a foster-based rescue with a dedicated facility in Duck River, TN. By operating through a network of compassionate fosters, we ensure our animals receive the individual attention, structure, and training they need to thrive before joining their new families. We are also proud to train eligible rescue dogs as service dogs for military veterans, providing this life-changing support for free.
The Adoption Partnership
We take adoption seriously because we want every match to last a lifetime. We ask all adopters to honor the Rule of 3’s, which gives your new companion the necessary time to decompress and adjust to their new environment. Our team is here to support you in finding the perfect pet whose personality aligns with your family dynamic.
