Rhea County Animal Shelter
A Dedicated Commitment to Our Animals
The Rhea County Animal Shelter is proud to serve our community by providing a safe, professional environment for stray animals in need of a second chance. Our mission is to ensure the welfare of all animals in our care while fostering a safer, healthier Rhea County for every citizen.
Building a Solution Together
Our shelter was born from a shared vision between the Sheriff's Department and the concerned citizens of Rhea County. Recognizing the community need to address stray animal issues, over $45,000 was raised through generous donations from individuals, local businesses, and civic organizations to turn this dream into a reality. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support that allows us to maintain this state-certified facility.
How We Provide Care
Operating as a key division of the Rhea County Sheriff's Department, we are committed to providing professional care for every animal that comes through our doors. Beyond basic shelter, we actively work with local animal hospitals to provide an aggressive, reduced-rate spay and neuter program. Our daily operations are supported by a dedicated team of Animal Control Officers and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of our residents.
Finding Your New Companion
We believe that every animal deserves a loving, stable home, and we are here to help you find the perfect addition to your family. By choosing to adopt, you are joining a compassionate network of neighbors dedicated to giving these animals the bright, happy future they deserve. We invite you to visit our facility and meet the wonderful animals currently waiting for their forever homes.
