Greeneville - Greene County Humane Society

Our Mission

At the Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society, we are dedicated to speaking up for homeless animals who cannot speak for themselves. We strive to provide a safe, compassionate environment for every dog and cat that comes through our doors.

Our History and Commitment

Founded in 1976, we have proudly served our community for decades as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We operate as a no-kill shelter, ensuring that we never euthanize healthy, adoptable animals. Because we do not receive government funding, your generous, tax-deductible donations are the vital lifeline that allows us to care for over 1,500 homeless and unwanted pets each year.

How We Provide Care

Our facility, located at 400 North Rufe Taylor Rd. in Greeneville, serves as a hub of activity and care for animals in need. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to prepare our residents for their future homes by providing comprehensive medical attention. We are committed to transparency and high standards of animal welfare, ensuring every animal is treated with dignity and kindness.

Finding Your Perfect Match

Adopting from us is about more than just bringing home a pet; it is about giving a deserving animal a second chance at life. Our knowledgeable adoption center staff is here to help you find a companion that is a perfect match for your lifestyle. To ensure your new family member is ready to thrive, all adopted pets are fully vetted, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, a microchip, and a complete veterinary exam.

Connect With Us

We invite you to visit our adoption center Tuesday through Saturday, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, to meet our current residents. Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support us through a donation, we would love to welcome you into our community. Please reach out to us at (423) 639-4771 to learn more about how you can make a difference.
