Welcome to the Humane Society of Sumner County (HSSC), where we are dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals in need. Established in 1974, we are a small, private, non-profit service organization that has diligently served our community for decades.
Our mission revolves around providing temporary shelter and necessary medical attention, including mandatory vaccinations and sterilization, to abandoned, lost, and displaced animals. Our compassionate adoption staff works tirelessly to connect loving, qualified individuals with these deserving animals. We also strive to re-unite lost pets with their guardians, showing our commitment to their well-being.
At HSSC, we are deeply committed to fostering a responsible pet ownership culture by encouraging spay and neuter awareness to help control the over-pet population. Our organization is entirely supported by generous donations, and we do not receive funding from any national organizations, reinforcing our commitment to local community service.
We invite you to visit us at our adoption center, open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Appointments to meet dogs are prioritized, while walk-ins are welcome to meet our wonderful cats. We believe that every interaction can change an animal's life, and we hope you can help us in this mission.
Join us in making a difference! Whether you're looking to adopt, volunteer, or donate, your support can help change the lives of countless homeless animals. Together, we can ensure every animal finds a loving home and promote kindness towards all animals in our community.
