The Blount County Animal Center is dedicated to serving our community through innovative approaches to sheltering, adopting, and providing spay and neuter services. We strive to educate the public on responsible pet ownership and the importance of animal welfare.
Serving Our Community
Since November 2009, the Blount County Animal Shelter has been committed to protecting and assuring the welfare of both the animals and the people of Blount County, Tennessee. We serve as a safe harbor for stray and surrendered animals, bridging the gap between animals in need and families looking for a new companion.

Housed within the Blount County Animal Center complex, our facility provides a professional and caring environment for the animals in our care. Our team ensures that our residents receive necessary care, including spaying or neutering, while maintaining a transparent and orderly process for those who come to us for help or to adopt.

We believe that every animal deserves a loving, forever home. Our adoption process is designed to be straightforward and supportive, and we are proud that our dog adoption rate is over 90 percent. When you adopt from us, your pet will come with their annual shots and rabies vaccination already handled, so you can focus on building a wonderful bond with your new family member.
