Welcome to the Blount County Animal Center, where our mission is to serve both animals and people in our community through innovative and compassionate approaches to sheltering and adoption. Since our establishment in November 2009, we have been dedicated to promoting animal welfare and responsible pet ownership in Blount County, Tennessee.
We invite potential pet adopters to visit us at our facility located at 233 Currie Avenue, Maryville, TN 37804. Our adoptions are available by appointment only during the following hours: Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays, as well as on all Federal and State Holidays. To schedule an appointment, please call us at (865) 980-6244.
At the Blount County Animal Center, we pride ourselves on ensuring the welfare of our animals while also keeping the health and safety of our community in mind. Stray animals that come through our doors are held for a specific period to give their owners a chance to reclaim them. We uphold a strong no-euthanasia policy, implementing this measure only when absolutely necessary for reasons of public safety or severe health issues.
For those looking to adopt, our rescue animals come at a nominal fee that includes essential vaccinations and spaying or neutering, making it easier for families to welcome a new furry friend into their homes. We are proud to share that our dog adoption rate exceeds 90%, which reflects our commitment to finding loving homes for our animals.
To see the wonderful pets available for adoption, and to stay updated on our current offerings, please visit our Adoption page. We encourage everyone in our community to come by, visit, and perhaps find their new best friend.
Join us in our dedication to pet welfare and responsible pet ownership. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of animals in need.
