Since 1946, the Nashville Humane Association has been dedicated to aiding sick, homeless, and at-risk shelter pets in Nashville, throughout Middle Tennessee, and across the globe. We are committed to finding responsible homes, controlling pet overpopulation, and promoting the humane treatment of animals.

As an independent, gift-supported 501(c)(3), we serve as a vital neighborhood resource for animals in need. For 80 years, our mission has been to protect the well-being of animals while providing essential support to the pet-loving people in our community.

10/12 - Drum roll please 🥁... This month, we’re recognizing the one and only, our amazing Executive Director, Laura Baker, as our Staff Member of the Month! If you know Laura, you know she is a ball of energy in the absolute best possible way. She somehow has 47 things happening at once, is always moving at about 100 miles an hour, and somehow still manages to keep all the plates spinning. Behind all that energy is someone who cares deeply about NHA, our animals, and every person who works here. Laura will jump in wherever she’s needed, celebrate our wins, laugh with us through the craziness, and always remind us why the work we do matters. Laura, thank you for keeping us on our toes, keeping us laughing, and caring so fiercely about this organization. We wouldn’t want to embrace the chaos with anyone else. Congratulations, Laura!

10/7 - What an incredible reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together. ❤️🐾 Through our Community Relief Hub, in partnership with Nashville Humane and Greater Good Charities, we were honored to support more than 170 families, nearly 400 cats and kittens, and over 250 dogs and puppies. We’re so grateful to Nashville Humane, Greater Good Charities, our volunteers, supporters, and everyone who helped make this relief effort possible. Together, we’re making sure families and their beloved pets don’t have to face difficult times alone. 🐶🐱❤️ Thank you for showing up, giving back, and helping us make an impact—one family and one pet at a time.
