At Claiborne Animal Shelter, we believe that every animal deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life. Our mission is to serve our community by providing a humane shelter, promoting pet adoptions, and reducing overpopulation through education and accessible spay and neuter services.
Founded in 2008 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our shelter began as a promise to care for the vulnerable animals of Claiborne County. Since officially opening our doors in 2012, we have grown into a dedicated facility that now cares for an average of 400 animals every month.
Our shelter is a place of compassion where every animal receives medical care, nourishment, and a safe, loving environment while waiting for their forever home. We are proud to feature amenities like the Boyd Foundation Dog Park and our Cat Cottage, ensuring our residents have space for exercise and enrichment. Our work is powered entirely by the generosity of our donors and the passion of our dedicated staff.
Choosing to adopt is a powerful act of kindness that gives a resilient, loving pet a well-deserved second chance. Our team is here to guide you through the process, helping ensure a perfect match for your family's lifestyle. We encourage you to bring your current dogs to meet their potential new companions, ensuring a smooth and happy transition for everyone involved.
Whether you are ready to bring home a new best friend, volunteer your time, or support our lifesaving work, we invite you to make a difference. Please visit our adoption facility or check our available pets online to see how you can help us continue our mission one animal at a time.
