Welcome to Smoky Mountain Humane Society, where we are dedicated to bringing "pawsitive" change to the lives of lost, abandoned, and unwanted animals in Cocke County, TN. Our commitment is fueled by our mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. As a proud NO-KILL rescue, we strive to create a safe haven for pets searching for a second chance at life. Over the past few years, we have successfully housed and cared for over 1,800 animals, allowing them the opportunity to find loving forever homes. Our initiatives are driven by the desire to reduce the overpopulation of animals and provide compassionate care for all the companion animals in our community. We believe in the power of community involvement and encourage everyone to join us in our efforts—whether through adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating. Our facilities feature amazing cat rooms and a spectacular puppy and small dog room, all built and maintained with the help of local volunteers and generous donors. Every contribution helps us provide low-cost spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and medical care to our shelter animals. We invite you to visit us during our hours of operation, Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., to meet our furry friends and see firsthand the love and care we provide.
