Smoky Mountain Humane Society is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing lost, abandoned, and unwanted animals in Cocke County, Tennessee. We strive to provide comfort, care, and a pawsitive future for every companion animal that comes through our doors.

Our History

Our journey began with a small group of dedicated volunteers who recognized a desperate need for better conditions for homeless pets in our community. Since our rebranding in 2022, we have remained committed to our no-kill philosophy, operating entirely on private donations and the passion of our community supporters to ensure every animal gets a second chance at a life filled with love.

How We Care

We are a shelter-based rescue that utilizes an incredible network of volunteers to provide a safe, nurturing environment while our animals await their forever families. From our amazing cat rooms to our dedicated puppy areas, we ensure that our residents are comfortable, socialized, and receive all necessary medical care, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping.
