DeKalb Animal Shelter
Our Mission
DeKalb Animal Shelter serves as a beacon of hope for homeless animals in Smithville, Tennessee, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding permanent, loving homes for every pet in our care. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for lost, abandoned, and mistreated animals, ensuring they receive the love and medical attention they deserve.
Our Journey
Since opening our doors in 2017, we have made immense progress toward creating a better world for animals in need. We operate as a low-kill facility supported by the dedicated DeKalb Animal Coalition, a non-profit organization formed to provide proactive support for our community's animal population.
How We Care
Our state-of-the-art facility is designed for the comfort and rehabilitation of our furry residents, featuring spacious kennels and dedicated medical areas. Our passionate team of staff and volunteers works tirelessly, often partnering with esteemed rescues and providing the essential care that helps our animals thrive while they await their forever families.
The Adopter Connection
We believe that every adoption is a meaningful partnership, and we strive to make the perfect match between our animals and their prospective new families. Whether you are looking for a playful puppy or a sweet, cuddly cat, our team is here to guide you through the process and help you welcome a new member into your home.
