Our Mission
All Kind Animal Initiative is dedicated to improving animal welfare in Abilene through comprehensive community resources, compassionate education, and high-quality shelter care. We strive to foster a culture of kindness that transforms our community into a place of dignity, respect, and wellbeing for both people and their pets.
Building a Kinder Future
Our journey reached an exciting milestone on January 1, 2023, when we began managing the Abilene Animal Shelter through a unique partnership with the City of Abilene. Today, we operate out of the state-of-the-art Jane & Phil Guitar Pet Adoption & Resource Center (PARC), serving as a hub for local animal services and community engagement.
How We Care
We believe that sustained programming—such as accessible spay/neuter services, vaccination clinics, and community outreach—is essential to help pets and families thrive. Our dedicated team manages shelter operations, facilitates a robust foster program to ensure better matches, and provides resources to keep pets in their loving homes whenever possible.

10/7 - Meet Damon! 💙 This lovable old Lab has been stealing our hearts a little more every day. Damon came to us as a stray, and while he was a little nervous here at the shelter at first, it didn’t take long for him to realize just how happy he is when he gets to head outside! And once he does? The cutest senior tippy tappies and little chompies when he’s excited to see you. We are OBSESSED. 🥹 Damon is about 10 years young, neutered, gentle, dainty, and a lower-energy kind of guy. He LOVES the water and would much rather spend his days enjoying the simple things with his people than running around like a youngster. We’ve been quickly falling in love with this sweet little old man, and now we’d really love to see him fall in love with a family of his own. Damon is ready to head home today, if you’ll have him. Swing by The PARC and ask to meet Damon - he’ll be so excited to see you! 🐾
