Our Mission
Happy Day Humane Society is a dedicated, non-profit, no-kill animal shelter committed to giving homeless and unwanted dogs a second chance at a happy life. We believe every animal deserves a loving forever home, and we work tirelessly to make that dream a reality.
Our Story
Our journey began with the vision of Margaret Lloyd and Dorothy Garrett, who founded the Howard County Humane Society in Big Spring many years ago. What started on a shoestring budget has grown into a vital community resource, and we are proud to honor their legacy by continuing to save the lives of animals in need throughout our community.
Providing a Second Chance
We provide a safe haven for over 100 dogs at our facility located on the North I-20 frontage road. Beyond providing shelter, we act as a lifeline for families facing difficult circumstances and help local animals that have been left to fend for themselves. Since April 2015, our dedicated team has successfully facilitated over 4,000 adoptions for cats and dogs.
