Heart of Texas SPCA
Giving Every Dog a Chance
Heart of Texas SPCA is dedicated to providing a safe haven for dogs and puppies in our community, offering them a second chance at happiness. Our mission is built on the belief that every dog deserves a loving home and the opportunity to live a long, healthy life.
Our Journey and Commitment
Established in May 2000, our organization has grown from its roots as Animal Friends into the Heart of Texas SPCA. Operating as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, we rely entirely on the generosity of public donations and the support of our volunteers to sustain our life-saving mission.
How We Provide Care
As a no-kill shelter, we provide temporary refuge and specialized care for animals, including those needing rehabilitation from injury or neglect. Our commitment extends beyond shelter; every pet in our care is fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered to ensure they are prepared for a healthy future. By operating with limited staff and resources, we prioritize quality, individualized care for every dog that comes through our doors.
Joining Our Mission
Adoption is a joyful partnership that saves lives, and we are here to help you find your new best friend. Because our facility operates on an appointment-only basis to ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, we encourage you to connect with us to learn about our current residents. Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in volunteering, or able to provide a temporary foster home for a pet in need, your support makes a world of difference.
