Bulverde Area Humane Society
Our Mission
The Bulverde Area Humane Society is a dedicated, all-volunteer, non-government affiliated no-kill shelter committed to providing a caring and secure environment for homeless and surrendered dogs and cats. We exist to assist in the pet life cycle through education, spay/neuter assistance, and the active promotion of pet-forever families.
Who We Are
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are powered entirely by our passionate volunteers and the generous tax-deductible contributions of our community. We believe in being a bridge for animals caught in-between homes, ensuring every life entrusted to us receives the time and resources they need to find their perfect match.
Our Care Model
At our facility, we provide a safe, limited-intake environment where animals are sheltered, fed, and exercised while waiting for their new beginnings. Beyond basic needs, we include a large measure of love for every pet, ensuring they are well-cared for while our team works to reunite lost pets with their owners or find new, loving placements. We are proud to maintain a high standard of care through our volunteer-driven efforts.
Joining Our Family
Adoption is the start of a beautiful partnership, and we are here to help you find a companion that fits your life perfectly. We emphasize education and support to ensure that both the pets and their new families transition smoothly into their forever homes. Whether you are looking to adopt or simply want to learn more about responsible pet ownership, we are here to support you.
Get Involved
We invite you to visit us during our business hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 AM to 1 PM, or by appointment. Please join our mission by visiting our shelter, exploring our available animals, or supporting our volunteer-powered initiatives to keep pets safe and loved in our community.
