Operation Kindness Humane Society - LIFESAVING PARTNERSHIPS HUB
Our Mission
At Operation Kindness Humane Society, we are dedicated to creating a kinder world for pets and the people who love them. We achieve this by providing compassionate, lifesaving care and innovative programs that help animals in need find their way to loving homes.
Our Story
Our journey began in 1976 when a group of passionate volunteers envisioned a lifesaving shelter for homeless animals with nowhere else to turn. Over the decades, we have evolved from operating out of our homes to establishing a state-of-the-art facility in Carrollton, Texas, ensuring every animal receives the care and kindness they deserve.
How We Operate
We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care, featuring an on-site animal hospital and a dedicated, 24-hour neonatal kitten nursery. Our work goes beyond our main campus; we collaborate with over 100 rescue partners and rely on a robust network of foster volunteers who provide essential short-term care to prepare pets for adoption.
The Adopter Connection
Adopting is about more than just finding a pet; it is about creating a beautiful, lifelong partnership. We believe in transparency and support, ensuring you have all the medical and behavioral information needed to make the right choice for your family. By choosing to adopt, you aren't just saving a life—you are creating space for another animal to be rescued.
Join Our Mission
We invite you to browse our current list of available dogs and cats to find your new best friend. If you aren't ready to adopt, you can still make a massive difference by volunteering, fostering, or supporting our community initiatives. Visit us at our Carrollton shelter to begin your journey with us today.

10/1 - Ringworm doesn’t have to be a dealbreaker when it comes to fostering. 🐾 Pets with ringworm need a little extra care while they heal, and a low-stress foster home can make a BIG difference. In fact, treatment time can be cut in half compared to treatment in a shelter! When you foster a ringworm pet, Operation Kindness provides the veterinary care, medications, food, supplies, and training you need. You provide the space, care, and a little extra TLC. ❤️ By opening your home to a ringworm foster, you’re not only helping that pet heal, you’re helping us make space to save another animal, too. Ready to give it a try? Sign up to foster at the link in our bio!🐱 #fosterkittens #fosterssavelives #fostersneeded #ringworm #sheltercats
