Gulf Coast Humane Society is dedicated to finding loving homes for companion animals and providing resources to strengthen the bond between pets and people in the Coastal Bend. We strive to create a future where every animal is treated with compassion, respect, and love.
Founded on January 15, 1945, by Frances and Harvey Weil, our organization has spent eight decades serving Corpus Christi. We have evolved from our roots into a state-of-the-art, no-kill shelter that cares for approximately 3,000 dogs and cats annually.
As a no-kill 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we go beyond providing shelter. We proactively partner with municipal shelters to save animals at risk of euthanasia and provide them with medical care, behavioral support, and a safe place to heal. Our work is powered by our incredible staff, volunteers, and foster families who bridge the gap until our animals find their forever homes.
Adoption is a joyful journey, and our goal is to ensure a successful, lifelong partnership for both you and your new pet. Our Adoption Counselors are here to guide you through our process, helping you find the companion that best fits your lifestyle, whether you are looking for an active adventure partner or a calm, steady cuddle buddy.
Every animal deserves a family, and your support makes that possible. We invite you to meet our adoptable pets today at our facility on Cabaniss Parkway, join our community of volunteers, or consider fostering to change a life. Together, we can continue to complete families and save more lives every day.
