El Paso Animal Services - Main Shelter
A Legacy of Compassion
El Paso Animal Services is the City of El Paso's municipal animal shelter, dedicated to delivering exceptional care and ensuring every animal experiences the five freedoms of welfare. Our mission is to find loving homes for pets, keep families together, and make our city a place where no healthy or treatable animal loses its life due to lack of space or resources.
Our Commitment to Lifesaving
Since reforming our operations in 2016, we have moved closer to our goal of becoming a no-kill community by implementing innovative, lifesaving programs. We are the only shelter in the borderland that accepts animals regardless of their medical condition or available space, ensuring that pets in need always have a safe place to go.
Care in Our Community
Our work is powered by a dedicated team and a strong network of foster parents, volunteers, and rescue partners who provide essential care for thousands of animals each year. We offer comprehensive support, ranging from community-wide spay and neuter services and our Pet Pantry program to behavior training and outreach initiatives that help pets stay happy and healthy in their homes.
Find Your New Best Friend
When you choose to adopt from us, you gain a lifelong partner while giving a deserving animal a fresh start. We focus on transparent, compassionate matching to ensure every adoption is a perfect fit for your family and lifestyle, opening up valuable space for the next pet in need.
Get Involved Today
Your impact starts the moment you walk through our doors. We invite you to visit our campus at 5001 Fred Wilson Ave. to meet our adoptable pets, explore our foster opportunities, or simply learn how you can support our mission.
