Houston Pets Alive!

Welcome to Houston Pets Alive! (HPA!), an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of at-risk cats and dogs in the Greater Houston area. Since our inception in 2014, we have made it our mission to save the lives of homeless pets, ensuring that every dog and cat has the chance for a loving home. Our organization rose to prominence in 2017 during Hurricane Harvey, where we played a pivotal role in rescuing thousands of displaced animals. Our dedication to animal welfare propelled us to expand our operations, leading to a larger facility and a broader range of programs designed to tackle the urgent challenges of pet homelessness and shelter overcrowding. At HPA!, we value collaboration and actively support local shelters and animal welfare organizations. We provide on-site training, education, and operational assistance to enhance their capacity to save lives. By empowering our community, we strive to create a future where fewer animals face homelessness and euthanasia. Our diverse range of programs includes the Adopt Together! initiative, the Shelters Save! program, and our Spay & Neuter Clinic, all aimed at increasing the lifesaving capacity of local shelters and finding forever homes for animals in need.
