Welcome to K-9 Angels Rescue, a dedicated organization devoted to rescuing and re-homing dogs in need since 2012. With a mission grounded in compassion and community action, we have successfully found loving homes for 9,933 dogs by the end of 2025. Our commitment to animal welfare drives our various initiatives, including our ongoing adoption process, which is facilitated through the hard work of our passionate 100% volunteer team. We believe in supporting our furry friends every step of the way, from adoption to fostering, while also providing resources for potential pet adopters. At K-9 Angels Rescue, we recognize that preventing unwanted litters is critical to reducing the number of homeless pets. This understanding led to the inception of The Empty Shelter Project (TESP) in 2017. Through this initiative, we've performed over 31,500 free spay/neuter surgeries, thereby preventing hundreds of thousands of offspring from entering shelters or becoming strays. Our efforts not only enhance animal welfare but have also saved taxpayers over $14 million in public shelter costs. Our focus on partnerships with shelters and rescues in northern states allows us to transport dogs and cats to areas with pre-approved adopters eagerly waiting for their new companions. Since the beginning of 2021, we've successfully transported around 350 animals thanks to our generous donors and a newly acquired transport van. As we strive to expand our efforts in curbing Houston's stray animal problem, we constantly seek foster homes to prepare animals for transport to our rescue partners.
