K-9 Angels Rescue
Our Mission
K-9 Angels Rescue is a 100% volunteer-based organization dedicated to rescuing, re-homing, and improving the lives of animals in need. Since 2012, we have successfully rescued and re-homed 9,933 dogs, driven by our commitment to making a lasting difference for pets and the communities they call home.
Rooted in Compassion
Founded in Houston, we recognized that adoption alone could not solve the challenge of stray populations. In 2017, we launched The Empty Shelter Project (TESP) to focus on the proactive prevention of unwanted litters through free spay/neuter services. By performing 31,500 surgeries to date, we are honored to have prevented hundreds of thousands of animals from facing the uncertainty of life on the streets.
How We Make a Difference
Our operations are powered by a dedicated network of volunteers and foster homes who prepare our animals for their next chapter. We partner with rescues and shelters in northern states, where there is a high demand for new furry friends, to find loving permanent homes for our rescues. Since 2021, we have successfully transported approximately 350 dogs and cats to their new families with the help of a generous donor-funded transport van.
Join Our Journey
When you choose to adopt from K-9 Angels Rescue, you are part of a transparent and mission-driven community where every donation goes directly toward animal care and spay/neuter expenses. We believe in the power of partnership to create a brighter future for every animal. We invite you to view our adoptable pets and support our mission as we continue our vital work in Houston and beyond.
