Welcome to the SPCA of Polk County, a nonprofit NO KILL animal welfare society dedicated to providing compassionate care to pets in need since 1978. Our mission is rooted in a commitment to engage with the community, promoting responsible pet ownership and advocating for spay and neuter practices to help reduce overpopulation. We strive to reunite lost animals with their owners and provide humane care while seeking loving, forever homes for the animals in our guardianship.
Our expansive 10,000 sq. ft. facility houses over 100 cats and dogs of all ages and sizes, eagerly awaiting their chance for a new beginning. We invite you to browse our adoptable pets and find your perfect companion. Additionally, our low-cost spay/neuter and wellness clinic is designed to serve the community with quality care, ensuring that pet ownership remains accessible and affordable.
At the SPCA of Polk County, we also believe in the power of community involvement. We offer rich opportunities to give back through volunteering, fostering, sponsorships, and more. Whether you choose to adopt, donate, or lend a helping hand, every contribution makes a difference in the lives of the animals we care for.
Furthermore, our commitment extends beyond our shelter. We provide in-house transport services for pets, ensuring that they find forever homes not only locally but across the USA. Our dedicated team, along with our passionate founders, continues to strive towards a future where every animal can have a second chance.
Join us in our journey to promote animal welfare and improve the lives of pets in our community. Your support makes our mission possible. Together, we can create a brighter future for pets and their people.
