Mazie's Mission is a non-profit veterinary hospital focused on eliminating unnecessary euthanasia by providing professional medical care to the most vulnerable animals. We are driven by the belief that every homeless and neglected pet deserves access to exceptional veterinary treatment.
Our organization was founded by Dr. Erin Shults and named in honor of her first shelter dog, Mazie. After years in private practice, Dr. Shults witnessed many rescue groups struggling to afford essential care and saw pets facing euthanasia due to limited resources, inspiring her to open a specialized facility dedicated solely to these animals.
Operating as an active foster-based rescue program in the DFW Metroplex, we partner directly with shelters to provide a soft landing for medically needy pets. Our foster animals receive thorough examinations by our professional medical staff and, when necessary, work with certified professional dog trainers using positive, force-free methods to ensure they are ready for their next chapter.
We are dedicated to building personal relationships and finding the right home for every animal in our care. Our adoption process is designed to ensure a successful match, which includes a veterinary reference and a home visit for applicants aged 21 and over. We invite you to join our rescue family and experience the joy of giving a deserving animal a forever home.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to browse our adoptable animals online or fill out our adoption application to begin your journey. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of pets in need.
