Second Chance SPCA
Our Mission
Second Chance SPCA is dedicated to rescuing at-risk dogs and cats from local municipal shelters and providing them with quality care in a compassionate environment. We believe that every dog and every cat deserves a second chance at a happy life.
Our Story
Since opening our doors in 2006, we have operated as Plano’s premier animal shelter. Over the last 17 years, we have proudly rescued more than 6,200 animals facing the threat of euthanasia and helped them find the love and safety of forever families.
How We Care
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates independently of other national SPCA or humane organizations. Our shelter provides a dedicated space where rescued animals receive medical care, food, and the daily love and attention they need while waiting to be adopted. Our board members and team of compassionate volunteers work hard every day to keep our residents comfortable and healthy.
Your New Best Friend
We prioritize creating long-lasting, joyful partnerships between our animals and their new owners. Our adoption process is designed to ensure that each pet is matched with a home that fits their specific needs and personality, ensuring a successful transition for everyone involved.
Come Meet Us
Your new family member is waiting to meet you at our adoption center in downtown Plano. We invite you to visit our website to browse our current residents or drop by during our operating hours to learn more about our adoptable cats and dogs. Come see why our volunteers and staff find this work so rewarding!
