Calhoun County Humane Society
Our Mission
The Calhoun County Humane Society is dedicated to rescuing animals from local shelters and unsafe situations, providing them with essential care, and connecting them with families who offer a lifetime of love. We believe every animal deserves a second chance, and we work tirelessly to make that a reality.
Our Story
Since 2006, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit has served the animals and families of Port Lavaca and surrounding communities. Founded as a volunteer-driven organization, we focus on increasing adoption opportunities and educating our neighbors about responsible pet ownership.
How We Care
Our commitment goes beyond just shelter; we provide veterinary care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services to ensure every pet is ready for their forever home. By collaborating with local authorities and relying on our dedicated foster network, we create a safe environment where animals can thrive while they wait for their perfect match.
Finding Your Perfect Match
Adoption is a joyful partnership that changes two lives—yours and theirs. We are here to make the process friendly and transparent, ensuring we find the best possible match for both you and your new best friend. Our team is always ready to guide you through meet-and-greets and the transition into your home.
