Legacy Humane Society is dedicated to the simple, powerful goal of giving unwanted, abandoned, or injured pets a second chance at a happy life. We believe that every loyal soul deserves the safety of a permanent, loving home.
Our Journey in the Community
Established in 2008, we began as a small group of volunteers with a big dream to address the needs of homeless animals in the North Dallas area. Since our inception, we have evolved to serve a broader community, saving over 12,500 animals by providing them with the medical attention and advocacy they deserve.
A Dedicated Care Model
We operate primarily through a robust network of dedicated foster homes, which allows our animals to receive personalized care and affection while awaiting their forever families. In addition to our foster program, we manage the Rockwall Adoption Center, maintaining high standards of care and a 90% or better live-outcome rate. We are currently working on ambitious expansion plans for our property in Wylie to include dedicated kennels, a veterinary suite, and inviting play yards for our rescues.
