Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to change a world and save a friend by helping pets find the forever homes they truly deserve. We are dedicated to providing compassionate care for domestic pets that have been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
Our History
Established in March 2008 as the Collin County Humane Society, we have grown from a small group of passionate volunteers into an organization serving the broader North Dallas community. In 2014, we adopted the name Legacy Humane Society to reflect our commitment to helping even more animals in need of a second chance at life.
Our Approach to Care
We operate as a rescue group focused on saving animals, including those from shelter euthanasia lists. Our pets receive necessary veterinary treatment and the security of a loving foster home, where they are nurtured until they are ready to join their permanent families. We believe in transparency and community responsibility, ensuring that every animal receives the medical attention and personal care they require to thrive.
