Concho Valley PAWS—Pets Are Worth Saving—is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless animals, ensuring they find loving, permanent homes. We strive to end the euthanasia of adoptable pets through community awareness, education, and compassionate care.
Founded in 1961 as the Humane Society of Tom Green County, our organization has spent decades advocating for the welfare of companion animals. In 2011, we began operating as Concho Valley PAWS to better distinguish our role as a separate, independent non-profit entity from local municipal animal control.
We believe in a community-wide approach to animal welfare, combining our Judith & David Hirschfeld Adoption Center with a dedicated network of foster families. By providing comprehensive veterinary care, including spay and neuter services, vaccinations, and socialization, we prepare every animal for a successful transition to their forever home. Our operations rely on the generous support of our community, staff, and volunteers who make our no-kill philosophy possible.
Adopting a pet is a life-changing journey, and our goal is to create the perfect, lasting match between you and your new companion. Our adoption specialists work closely with potential adopters to understand your home environment, ensuring that the pets in our care find the safe and loving futures they deserve. Whether you are looking for a playful puppy or a calm senior, we are here to guide you through every step of the process.
We invite you to experience the joy of adoption by visiting our adoption center at 3134 N. US Highway 67 in San Angelo.
