Welcome to the Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL), the oldest no-kill shelter in South Texas, dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Our mission is simple yet profound: we provide medical treatment, nutrition, and shelter in a safe, live-release facility until each animal finds their forever home. At ADL, we believe in the power of community and advocate for responsible pet ownership through education and empowerment. In 2024 alone, we were proud to save 6,384 lives, foster 1,796 pets, and provide 4,913 spay/neuter services, all thanks to our dedicated supporters and volunteers who logged an impressive 138,612 hours of service. Our comprehensive programs extend beyond adoptions to include fostering, community pet events, free and low-cost spay and neuter services, and pet education initiatives. We also offer free pet vaccination and microchip events to ensure the health and safety of our furry companions.
