Welcome to San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!), a proud 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of at-risk pets in our community. Founded in 2011 in response to alarming euthanasia rates, SAPA! is the only high-volume rescue in San Antonio, successfully rescuing over 75,000 dogs and cats since our inception. Our mission is crystal clear: to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopters, or foster homes. Each year, we save around 5,500 at-risk cats and dogs from the city shelter, providing them with a second chance at life. SAPA! serves as a crucial safety net for animals who fall through the cracks of other lifesaving options.
